Korean Delivery Apps for Foreigners: We Tried Baemin, Shuttle & Yogiyo

We tested Baemin, Shuttle, and Yogiyo ourselves to see which one works without signing up.

As of September 2026

"Baemin won't work for foreigners because of the Korean resident ID number" is a claim you'll see all over the internet. But switch your phone's system language to English and open the app, and the story changes completely. We tested Baemin, Shuttle, and Yogiyo ourselves — here's exactly what we found.

1. Baemin — turned out to be the easiest

Switch your phone's system language to English, and the app itself shows up as "Baemin." Once you open it:

No signup at all Set your location and you're dropped straight into the food search screen. Even carrying an order through to checkout never asked for a resident registration number or phone verification.
Payment Foreign-issued credit cards, WeChat Pay, and Alipay are supported
Menu descriptions Full item descriptions show up in English
Delivery fee ₩3,000 in our test

For a short trip, this is genuinely the lowest-friction option out there. With no account needed at all, it doesn't even matter that a data-only tourist eSIM can't receive text messages.

2. Shuttle — built for foreigners, but takes more setup than Baemin

Signup required You need to create an account with an email or social login
Language Switch your phone to English and the app's UI and menu descriptions both come up in English (no Korean shown at all). For reference, the app's own description says: "Use the app in English, Japanese, or Chinese (menu content is available in Korean and English only)" — meaning the UI supports four languages, but the menu text itself is only written in Korean and English, so setting Japanese or Chinese will likely still show you English menus.
Payment Apple Pay, PayPal, credit card
Delivery fee ₩6,000 in our test (Yeongdeungpo, Seoul)

3. Yogiyo — payment works, but menu descriptions trip you up

Getting in Just set your location, no signup screen in the way
Payment Foreign card payment supported
Menu descriptions Korean only — you'll be guessing from photos or running a translation app alongside it
Delivery fee ₩4,100 in our test

4. Don't take the fee shown on screen as fixed

Delivery fees can vary by distance, time, and area

All three fees above are from our test location (Yeongdeungpo, Seoul) at a specific time. Busan or other areas, or a different time of day, could show different numbers — it's worth double-checking the actual fee the app shows right before you order.

If you're only in town for a few days, try Baemin first — no signup, straight to browsing the menu. If that doesn't work out, you can try Shuttle or Yogiyo as backups.
