Not tourist reviews — 10,800 Busan residents voted on this. They’re scattered across the city, so just pick whichever fits your route.

Every Busan dwaeji gukbap shop simmers its broth and boils its pork a little differently.
The same dish can taste completely different depending on whose kitchen it comes out of. How long the broth simmers, how the pork is boiled, how the seasoning is balanced — every shop has built its own version over decades.
So when you’re traveling and want to know where’s actually good, the best source isn’t a tourist review or a ranked list — it’s the people who’ve been eating there their whole lives. That’s the information that lowers your odds of a disappointing bowl.
And right now, more travelers are choosing to follow how locals actually live instead of sticking to the standard sightseeing route. Eating where locals genuinely line up is an experience in itself.
The City of Busan and the Busan Tourism Organization addressed exactly that gap. From August 16 to September 2, residents were invited to recommend their favorite dwaeji gukbap shop — 10,800 people took part, nominating 254 different places. The 20 with the most overlapping recommendations were published.
These 20 aren’t clustered around tourist areas. From Nam-gu to Dong-gu, Suyeong-gu, and even Gijang-gun, they’re real neighborhood shops spread across the whole city. So instead of asking "which one is best," it’s worth asking "which one is near where I’m already going."

Tapping through 20 map links one at a time isn’t exactly practical. Tap the heart on this article, then open My Trip Planner from the top menu — every location from this piece shows up as a pin on one map, all together. It’s the easiest way to compare all 20 side by side.
